Vanessa Thompson started this petition to School Superintendent

I am a teacher at Beulah Elementary, former PTA board member for the school, school volunteer and have had a child who attended this school (with Mr. Taylor as her 5th grade teacher, many years ago). The faculty was informed today that Mr. Taylor is being transferred to a new school in the fall. I understand the need to move AP’s around and give them experience at other schools or to move them to help strengthen other schools, however, this is not the year for that. Our school is going to be undergoing major construction and changes next year that are going to affect not only the staff and students, but also the community. Why move the man who has been involved in these upcoming challenges the school faces and give us (the community, students and faculty) someone new who knows nothing about our school, students, families, faculty or community? We need someone who understands all of us.

As a co-worker said earlier:

“Would you go into someone's house and remove 1 of the most vital family members that holds the family together? The person that goes above and beyond for his family. No you wouldn't!”

Let me tell you just a little bit about Mr. Taylor: he's a prominent figure in our community, runs youth leagues, taught the kids here, mentors kids, athletic director of the local church, and I'm sure I’m missing more.  These children and families love knowing that one of the school leaders is more than just an Asst. Principal. They know he is a part of their family. They know that our admin TEAM work.

More wise words from a co-worker:

“See Beulah works so well because of our admin team. They know what each other are going to say before the other says it. Beulah Elementary is having so many changes next year and we need our admin team...together...to get us through it. Mr. Taylor knows our school and our teachers inside and out. There will never be a time to move him, but I can promise you this is definitely not the year.”

Please help us continue to make a difference in the lives of our students, families and the faculty and KEEP Mr. Taylor where he not only belongs, but where he is NEEDED THE MOST!
