Central High School's Racist Comment and Slur
The Issue
A group of Central High School's recent graduates and soon to be returning students in the next term have been caught on a Snapchat group named "White Power." In this group-chat, these individuals who are all White teenagers turned the group into a racially motivated chat targeting peers who identify as Black (POC). The majority of the individuals in the chat have been caught mocking the death of George Floyd. In the group, a female peer was added for the intent to insult her for supporting the protest that took place earlier on a Thursday afternoon. She stated, "I got added because I don't have the same opinion and now they are trying to start sh*t." One of the boys in the group replied with "Oh for f*ck, well u should be with Floyd."
Comments made later in the chat from all individuals turned violent and into threats. It does not even end there. Later a third separate individual who was added to the group saw the remarks and comments and was in dismay. The individual later added three of her Black peers she knew to the group, who also were former classmates with the rest of the individuals in the group. The three Black individuals were targeted, insulted, and harassed. They were called racial slurs beyond words and were humiliated.
We are calling for action for these individuals to be held accountable, and face serious repercussions. All names will be listed of all those involved that we are aware of, so far. This is a serious matter in the face of today's climax in this country and around the world. We want them expelled and kick out and more!! We are calling out to Central High School to take action with serious consequences and the school board to show zero-tolerance policy for such atrocious behavior.
