I would like to bring back skirts to my school, Fareham Academy. The reason why I am starting a petition is because I don’t want to rebel and go against authority by just wearing skirts regardless. So my suggestion is I would like to bring a democratic approach to this and give students, parents and teachers a choice in the matter. If it was more a want amongst students then I would 100% happily wear trousers, instead of a forced decision by governors. I am 14 years old, and i been in secondary school for 3 years now & have only worn trousers twice in my school life, because they make me feel uncomfortable about my body. I have spoken to many girls, and many of them also feel uncomfortable wearing trousers. I do not wish to defy my head teacher or governors, I have a lot of respect for authority figures, I would just like to ask for a fairer way of making the decision. I have spoken to my parents before making this, and they are both supportive of it, as are my friends.
