For years young women across the united states have heard the phrases “cover up” “your shorts are too short” “go change” “it’s distracting” and it’s time for that to come to an end. Young women should not have be shamed for the way they present themselves. a women dresses based off their confidence. When a school staff member tells us to “cover up” it makes our confidence plummet. Schools should have a dress code, but the things they say we can’t wear, is what makes us feel like ourselves. Therefore i feel school dress codes need to be updated to a more reasonable standard.
