Due to COVID-19 a traditional graduation ceremony can’t take place for the graduates of Lovington High School. Administration has made a plan to celebrate the graduates. While we do appreciate the effort administration has put in, the class of 2020 wants to have a ceremony at the football stadium. Like some surrounding schools are planning to do. We understand due to covid the best way to make it happen is to make a limited entry graduation. Meaning each senior would only be allowed 2 guests. We can make sure of this by giving seniors two tickets or some other way to assure only two guests are allowed in. To show just how much we want it we have calculated there are about 250 students combined in Lovington High School and New Hope High School. Our football stadium holds up to 5000 people according to New Mexico Stadiums. http://www.stadiumconnection.com/nm/stadium.php?id=1575 Meaning if we divided the total capacity by the number of students that would allow for 20 people per student. We are only asking for you to allow 2 people in to celebrate with us. That would give plenty of space between our family members to keep us all safe. We could also livestream the ceremony for our other family members so they could see us walk the stage too.
