During the COVID-19 pandemic, SCAD has not been transparent with the student body. This lack of transparency has resulted in a lack of student feedback in the decision-making process. SCAD has also failed to take many necessary steps to protect the student body, faculty, and the community at large. For these reasons, we the students of SCAD demand college meet the following demands.

1. To take in-person classes students and faculty must be vaccinated unless they have a medical exemption.

2. You are considered vaccinated if you are within 6 months of your first dose or have had your booster.

3. Testing should be free and accessible at residence halls and major halls.

4. All students should be required to take 1 test every two weeks.

5. Students should not be penalized for missing class if they test positive and need to quarantine.

6. Hybrid learning should be an option for students as an accommodation / or medical exemption during quarantine. 

7. All efforts to improve ventilation in academic buildings should be implemented.

8. Greater transparency with the student body about vaccination rates and the number of positive tests/infections.

9. Public contingency plans in the case of an outbreak should be posted.

10. Educational materials should be available to the student body about best practices for the mitigation of the spread of the virus.

11. SCAD must match funds it allocates to stopping the spread of covid among the student body to be given to the city in order to stop the spread

12.  SCAD must place a moratorium on the purchase of all property during the pandemic.
