Bull-riding is a cruel and inhumane activity, masquerading as a sport. The animals are traumatised by being ridden for pointless entertainment and are frequently injured. The animals are clearly deeply distressed by the experience. The riders and attendants are also often injured. It seems anomalous that SBS, that has such a worthy reputation for sensitive and insightful programming would allow the broadcast of this activity. Bull-riding simply does not fit with the ethos and spirit of NITV or general SBS programming. I am sure many SBS viewers would be shocked that bull-riding is part of the SBS suite of otherwise worthy programming.
