Say YES to The Arizona Green Amendment!
The Issue
Across the United States, we are seeing an unprecedented rollback of federal environmental protections. These measures provided the bare minimum protection of the water, air, and wildlife in communities around the U.S. This erosion devastates more than just nature, it exacerbates the existing environmental justice issues home to Arizona like air quality, water security, and the degradation of the diverse desert ecosystems we need and love.
In response, we need bold, new environmental protections that will not only help fill the gaps left by the rollback of federal environmental protection in Arizona, but will also address the gaps in state environmental law that have left too many communities exposed to devastating harm. We need a bold new approach that will strengthen environmental defenses and protections in ways yet to be seen in our state.
We need a state constitutional amendment focused on the environment: The Arizona Green Amendment.
An Arizona Green Amendment will recognize that every person has the inalienable, human RIGHT to a clean and healthy environment, including clean water and air, healthy ecosystems and a safe climate, and to the preservation of the natural, cultural, and healthful qualities of the environment. An Arizona Green Amendment will recognize that these rights belong to all people and all generations.
An Arizona Green Amendment will ensure the highest level of protection for our state’s natural resources, making a massive impact. With the Arizona Green Amendment, communities will face fewer barriers to pursuing litigation on behalf of the public's natural resources, preventing a wide range of environmental destruction!
