I find myself in a position that is personal and critical to the community. The unwelcome news of a casino being built on the land that was meant to be zoned for PUD 6 has prompted me to stand against it. The potential harm a casino might bring to our local society, like the possible increase in crime and the promotion of compulsive gambling behavior, has been demonstrated in numerous communities (National Council on Problem Gambling). 

After watching today’s town hall meeting, a citizen of irving brought up a good idea. Instead, let's allow Costco to take its place, a retail titan that is known for providing a myriad of jobs in areas it operates and increasing retail infrastructure. This would not only maximize the potential of the land itself but also bring employment opportunities to our community, improve local economy, and retain the peace and order we so treasure. Together, let's make our voices heard and halt the rezoning of PUD 6 to avert a potential crisis. Kindly sign this petition to show your support.
