Say No to the Casino Civic Association is asking residents of Nassau County to sign a petition opposing the Nassau County government approving an agreement with Sands Casino to develop a casino at the Nassau County Coliseum/HUB. Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman, Supervisor Clavin, the Nassau County Legislature, and the Town of Hempstead Town Board must understand that the residents oppose this project! 

This casino will change the character of Nassau County and the surrounding neighborhoods and will lead to an increase in crime, traffic and noise pollution. It will also put a strain on our local law enforcement and governments. 

According to Newsday, the Sands Casino has already secured agreements to take over the lease of the 72 acre Nassau County Coliseum/HUB.  If these agreements are approved by Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman, Nassau County Legislator Schaeffer, and the Nassau County Legislature, then the project will begin.
