D. R. Horton, the nation’s largest home builder, intends to build 1,006 high density dwellings on ground currently owned by Eastern State Hospital along Longhill Road and DePue Drive in James City County, Virginia.  This development will affect 365 acres of beautiful woodlands and may result in four times the vehicle traffic, with potential congestion on Longhill Road and DePue Drive.  In addition, there will be negative environmental impacts with trees being cut down and loss of wildlife habitat.
