ABOUT THE PLANNING PROCESS

On September 6, 2024, Arthurs Seat Eagle submitted an application to the Minister for Planning, The Hon. Sonya Kilkenny MP, under a special pathway established in response to COVID-19. Known as the Significant Economic Development Pathway within the Development Facilitation Program, this process is designed to fast-track certain projects.

“The Minister for Planning has established the Development Facilitation Program (DFP) to make faster decisions for priority projects.”

“The Development Facilitation Program (DFP) is an accelerated assessment pathway for eligible projects to inject investment into the Victorian economy, keep people in jobs and create homes for people. All applications lodged to the DFP will be determined by the Minister for Planning or the Department of Transport and Planning under delegation.”

To qualify for this "FAST-TRACKED" process, the project must have a value of over $10 million. This allows the proposal to bypass local government review, and if approved by the Planning Minister, it will not be subject to VCAT under this program.

Currently, the Planning Minister is requesting additional reports and seeking further clarification from the developers. Once all required reports have been submitted, there will be a 14-day window for individuals and groups to make formal submissions in opposition to the proposal. If you have concerns or questions, the Minister will look at them now and you should email her directly.  sonya.kilkenny@parliament.vic.gov.au

Thanks again for your support and remember SHARE to CARE!
