Robertson County Texas has become the next Rural Texas County to be invaded by “Green” energy projects taking thousands of acres of farm and ranch land and covering them with Solar Farms, toxic BESS (battery energy storage system) sites and then Data Centers.

As Robertson County is an unincorporated Texas County, it does not have the zoning and permitting control to regulate, but it does have the ability to not provide incentive for developers to come into Robertson County.  Additionally, County Leadership has the responsibility and obligation to demand and ensure any “Green” energy development and/or operation is compliant with Safety and Security Standards set forth by current Texas State Law, particularly NFPA 855 and the Lonestar Protection Act. Currently these laws are not being followed all over Texas and likely Robertson County.

Please consider signing this petition that urges Robertson County Leadership to:

• Demand any current or future “Green” energy operator or developer provide, in writing, PROOF
  of compliance with the National Fire Protection Association Section 855, which sets fire and
  safety standards for BESS sites and Solar Farms.  If there are to be BESS sites, Solar Farms and Data Centers in Robertson County, the community needs to be reassured that they are compliant with all current safety and security standards.
• Demand any current or future “Green” energy operator or developer provide, in writing, PROOF
  of compliance with The Lonestar Infrastructure Protection Act, which prohibits use of any
  electronic component associated with remote communication or control systems manufactured in:  China, Iran, North Korea and Russia.  These prohibited devices are heavily used in BESS sites and Solar Panel Manufacturing.  Any remote communication or control device must be guaranteed not to allow back door access into the Texas electricity grid.
• Cease the approval of Reinvestment Zones and Tax Abatement Agreements related to “Green”
  energy projects. Do not financially incent operators and developers of “Green” energy projects to
  develop in Robertson County.

In Texas, for unincorporated areas of a county, the authority having jurisdiction (AHJ) for
enforcing fire standards and codes is the county commissioner’s court.

All of this information associated with NFPA 855 and Lonestar Infrastructure Protection Act has
been provided to the Robertson County Commissioners Court on March 3, 2026.  By signing
this petition you are asking them to act in good faith for the Safety and Security of Robertson
County.
