We have set this petition up for residents in the Cleethorpes area to sign  in protest against the proposed Salmon farm in Cleethorpes being built.

Currently there is a pre- application in at the planning department at NELC, we are currently protesting about this, and also  asking everyone that opposes the Salmon farm to send in emails and letters to the planning department , giving their reasons they don't want the Salmon farm built and their growing concerns.

We are also asking for people that don't want the Salmon farm being built on the site in Sidney Sussex ward  to also sign this petition against the development, this petition will also be handed into planning department alongside residents letters and emails.

 

We have also set up a campaign group on Facebook, where we are posting up to date information, the group is also a place where residents can read all about how a Salmon farm on their doorstep will affect the community, the local wildlife, the environment, and the sealife.

This is  a one-stop-place, to see or add legitimate  information regards the Salmon Farm proposal,  and where our local community, residents, Cllrs, MP's, people with Environmental Knowledge and expertise, can see all updated information within the campaign  and  discuss the Environmental issues, such as if the Salmon Farm was approved planning, how would this affect the the community as a whole, the wildlife that frequent the proposed site and the affects this could have on the sea-life / the beach  and our sea defences .

  We would hope that outside agencies, such as Environment agency, RSPB, Natural England, Bat conservationists, Butterfly conservationists, and the plant protection societies, can possibly see the information that is added, and where possible share information to us and offer their guidance.

 

ABOUT THE AREA.........

This development, is proposed to be built in the Sidney Sussex ward in Cleethorpes, and would be situated on the ABP, site , along Harrington street, opposite  the back of Grimsby Town Football Club.

As well as local residents/ residents from Grimsby and visitors to the area enjoying their daily walks along the sea front and along the sea wall, there are many using this area to take their dogs for a walk, and take in their daily exercise, while  others take their children  exploring and learning about nature as do the local schools and youth clubs. 
 For some people who usually never see anyone as they live alone, they look forward to taking a walk across this area regularly and meet up with other people that also take this time to meet others and socialise and  just sit along the seawall taking in the absolutely fantastic panoramic views, while enjoying the peace and tranquillity, or the company of others and enhancing their mental health and well being.

Many people young and old, enjoy watching the families of Deer's grazing on this ground, wh

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

ile others are avid bird watchers and have been tracking and logging down rare and protected species of birds, butterfly's and protected plants  for many many years, one resident has logs of protected plants, butterfly's  and birds spanning over 40 years. 

 

There is also a family of  Roe Deer grazing and living in this area, many locals and children love to see these not so shy animals enjoying the area, if this farm was given the go ahead
