If the requested NR Neighborhood Residential zoning is approved, a developer plans to build 46 double-occupancy apartments on 4.9 acres of the Sanitary District's property. The rezoning and proposed apartments would:

*Intrude upon a large area of single-family and rural family homes 

*Destroy a large woodland and wildlife habitat containing 1,200 trees

*Introduce incompatible zoning in an area of single-family zoning 

*Create a land use that is contrary to adopted Door County and Town of Gibraltar comprehensive plans 

*Negatively impact area single-family home property values 

*Locate apartment residents too close to the treatment plant for health and safety reasons

*Create a dangerous increase in vehicle traffic near Gibraltar School. 

Act now to oppose the requested NR zoning for apartments! The Town of Gibraltar Plan Commission will review and make a recommendation on the requested zoning on Tuesday, April 25, 2023 at 6pm. The Gibraltar Town Board will consider the Plan Commission recommendation on Wednesday, May 3, 2023 at 7pm. The Door County Resource Planning Committee and Board of Supervisors will review and consider the request once the Town's recommendation is made.
