SAVE OUR HIGH STREET!

Shepton Mallet has a wonderful High Street full of quirky, independent shops, they are a real asset to our town. We need to prioritise the Town Centre, to make sure that any vitality remains and regeneration is encouraged, footfall through the Town Centre needs to be increased, not decreased. If Tesco are allowed to go forward with this project it will be a definite threat to the viability of our High Street, affecting at least 3 shops directly, by offering the same or simillar services and of course causing a knock on effect, for all the traders in town.

Please take the following steps in support  of our campaign to stop Tesco from taking even more business from our High Street:

4/ Spend at least £10 a week in your local independent shops instead of Tesco! Don't forget Shepton Mallet's Friday Market, with Fruit, Vegetables, Meat, Fish, Baked Goods, Plants and Flowers, as well as our unique High Street!

We are the consumers, Tesco need to listen to us, maybe the only language they understand is cash not community!
