It is proposed that 1200 -2700 new homes built on the area of land to the south of Maesycwmmer which has been put forward for the development of a Strategic Site (‘Parc Gwernau’), by a consortium of landowners comprising Barratt David Wilson Homes South Wales and The Trustees of the Llanarth Estates.

If it went ahead, this development would destroy up to 212 hectares of beautiful green fields, wildlife, ecosystems. The impact on the carbon footprint would be huge.  Our local council have already declared a climate emergency yet these plans are out for consultation.
