Well, the fact is that there are multiple issues that we need to confront if we are to stand a chance to fight this massive risk. Namely the concession named Aljezur and Tavira which covers 14 council areas. A very interesting article (only in Portuguese – but you can use Google translate to get the zest of it) written in 2011 by a Portuguese architect involved in sustainable construction development - but which is just as pertinent today as it was then. Especially one has to ask the role that many environmental NGO’s play in “greenwashing” the image of energy, oil and gas big corporations. We have to question if an NGO can receive funds or in kind contributions from the industry they are apparently fighting? Are they then looking after stakeholder’s interests or funder's/donors interests?
