Firstly, thank you for signing this petition and standing up for the only remaining area of public bushland we have left in our community.
We won't ramble on about the importance of biodiversity but it really does matter and by signing the petition you did a great thing for your community. If you'd like to do another good deed please have a conversation at work/school tomorrow and help to spread the word (sharing the petition also works really well ;) . Almost 600 of us have signed the petition so far and it's gaining more all the time.
The grant could be awarded any time between now and early November so we don't have long to act! Over the coming days we will be speaking with a number of key community stakeholders. We will also be knocking on the door of Deputy Premier Paul Toole asking him to take the lack of public consultation into consideration and presenting our list of key concerns.
Please do what you can to help us to stop this from happening. In the words of Hunter Bird Observers Club ' the plan for Walka is a total disaster for the site'.
Thank you for your support!
