Now on to business! Much has happened since my last update.

As you know, I filed an Article 78 motion against the Town of Babylon for accepting the Final Environmental Impact Statement (FEIS), also known as the SEQRA study (State Environmental Quality Review Act), which was done on the 110 acres where they want to rezone and build this industrial park. My argument in the motion is that the Town was hasty and too quick to accept this document without doing proper due diligence on how it is negatively impacting the surrounding communities.

The Town's lawyers have responded with a request to have my Article 78 motion dismissed. I am working on a response to keep things going, which you can read about in the Newsday article linked HERE. (If you are not a Newsday subscriber, you can see a print version of the article in our shared Google folder (the link for the shared folder is also in Update 1).

Please note that we have several options at our disposal to continue this fight. Right now, our biggest obstacle is getting community members informed and aware of what is happening. Many of our neighbors still do not know about this project! So, in order to inform more constituents, I and my small team will be offering lawn signs to community members to display around the affected neighborhoods. (A picture of the sign is displayed at the top of this update.) It includes a link to this petition and information about why we want to stop this project.

You will see these lawn signs very soon around the area! If you would like one, please comment here on the petition and we will reach out to you (we have everyone's contact information, so there is no need to place any personal contact information in your comment.) To help cover costs each lawn sign will be $20.
