As your licensed Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) barber and cosmetology provider (#1859), I want to inform both the consumer and licensed professional signer of this petition of important legislative updates effective September 1, 2025, and upcoming classes and events. Let's dive right in!
Licensed Professionals
Starting on this date, all barbers will be required to have continuing education hours for license renewal. While these requirements have long been standardized for cosmetology licenses, the human trafficking component now requires 1 hour.
