On another note, consumers, you may or may not know that the state of Texas mandates Barber and Cosmetology professionals to have human trafficking signage within their barber and salon establishments and suites.  Cosmetologist, Manicurist, Estheticians, and Lash Technician are mandated by law to be educated on human trafficking for license renewal.  If you are a barber and you are reading this message, continuing education (CE or CEU) requirements will go in effect for barbers on September 1, 2025.  Be prepared by knowing what is required of you for license renewal as it is your responsibility.

As a TDLR Approved Cosmetology CE Provider that educates on human trafficking, I am working effortlessly along with others to shine the light on how the barber and cosmetology industry is at the forefront of human trafficking. How are we you ask? Barbers and cosmetology professionals service the traffickers, victims, and solicitors knowingly and unknowingly! It is also important to understand that human trafficking is not only sex, it is work labor too! 

As a community, we must be vigilant by getting familiar with the topic and "saying something if you see something".

Suspected Human Trafficking  On May 30th the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulations issued its first emergency massage establishment closure against owner Hsin Wei Chen and Foot Reflexology Star for suspected human trafficking.
