Dollar General Corporation is planning on demolishing THREE well maintained houses, just to make some money in another beautiful rural town... our town....Gowanda, NY.  The planned location ( Buffalo st- between Caroline and Bader Ave) is in the middle of a residential neighborhood, and less then a 1/2 mile from an existing Family Dollar.  In a town that is only 1.61 square miles, it seems unnecessary and very likely to result in family dollar becoming just another vacant building in our town. 

The chosen location is surrounded by tax paying homeowners that would be directly affected by plummeting property values, delivery trucks, dumpsters, and high traffic right in their backyards. Which in turn affects the quality of the rest of our village as well. 

Dollar General corporation has a history of building stores where they are not welcome (there are currently 271 petitions just on change.org!), and hurting/killing the small town businesses in the process.

Please sign this petition and help us with our  attempt to save our small town, small businesses, and small backyards. I plan on taking this petition to the village board at the next meeting (January 8th 2019 at 6pm) and asking them to tell Dollar General we aren’t interested.
