<°((( (<>< ~ HELP US DELIVER THE NEXT VICTORY! ~ ><>) )))°>

We did it! We delivered your voice to the International Seabed Authority.

On June 11th at the UN Ocean Conference in Nice, France we / The Ocean and Us delivered YOUR voice to the newly appointed Secretary General of the International Seabed Authority ISA. Almost 350,000 of signed this petition saying NO to deep-sea mining.

We also handed over the deep-sea mining declaration with over 160 endorsements from businesses, organisations, cultural centres and institutions, all supporting a moratorium on deep-sea mining.

Your voice gave us the power to speak directly to the International Seabed Authority making clear that there is NO appetite to open the ocean to mining.

The High Seas, our global commons, belong to you, me and to all living beings. They are not for sale. The health of the High Seas is critical to our own today and for always.

When we started this campaign very few countries spoke out against deep-sea mining, now 37 governments are sounding the alarm, calling for a moratorium on this reckless industry.

But we are not there yet! We MUST keep going and build on this resistance.

👉🏽  Help us deliver the next victory. Protect the deep sea by adopting a deep-sea wonder today! (clicking on take the next step does not support our work, only clicking here will).

Thank you from the bottom of the ocean - Farah Obaidullah, Ocean Advocate, Founder of The Ocean and Us, Women4Oceans and editor of the book The Ocean and Us 💙 🌏 🕊️
