The Issue

Gov Sherrill wants to bring endocrine  disrupting chemicals aboard our trains- tell her no!!!! Millions of New Jersey commuters, who use NJ Transit every day are facing a potential health hazard. The recent plans to introduce added “cleaning fragrances” to NJ Transit facilities and vehicles pose a significant risk to individuals with allergies or high sensitivity to these substances.

These fragrances often contain endocrine disrupting chemicals that are known to negatively impact health. For those of us with heightened sensitivities, exposure can lead to a range of severe reactions, including migraines, skin rashes, throat swelling, and respiratory issues. These are not minor inconveniences- they are serious health concerns that affect our daily lives.

The introduction of fragrances would force many of us to reconsider our only means of affordable and efficient transport, making our daily commutes a source of stress and anxiety rather than convenience. We should not have to choose between our well-being and accessibility to public transportation.

Governor Mikie Sherrill has supported environmentally and health conscious policies in the past, and we urge her to do so again by stopping plans to introduce fragrances in NJ Transit. Public transport should be accessible to everyone, including those with sensitivities and allergies.

By signing this petition, you are supporting the health and well-being of countless commuters across New Jersey. Let's come together to maintain a fragrance free NJ Transit for the benefit of all. Please sign this petition and help us make our voices heard.
