Say NO to AI Data Centers in Decatur County!

Say NO to AI Data Centers in Decatur County!
The Issue
We the people of Decatur County are opposed to having this AI Data Center being built in our backyards. We were not properly informed of the possibility of this Hyperscale data center coming to our community. There has been zero transparency to the citizens of Decatur County regarding the RISKS of this being built in our community. Our utility bills are already outrageous and they will only continue to increase with the amount of energy and water this data center will utilize. We deserve to have a vote in this and our voices should be heard. This is OUR community too.
We need to protect Decatur County! One hyperscale AI data center uses between 1-5 million gallons of water PER DAY. This is enough water to supply a population of approximately 50,000 people! The noise pollution sounds like CONSTANT background music or overlapping conversations anywhere between 50-85 decibels! The amount of energy needed to run one hyperscale data center is anywhere between 100-150 MW, which is the equivalent to hundreds of thousands of households or electric vehicles! They will be building transmission poles throughout the area which will only increase these data centers coming to the area due to the ease of connection! It is never just ONE, they metastasize and continue to place them everywhere! We will experience water supply issues, power grid issues, higher taxes to assist in building the infrastructure for these centers, much higher utility bills (up to 30-40%), and much more!
