The Parks and Recreation Board of Directors has passed a proposal to put a dog park at Ever and Anon Park and next Monday (3/20) city council will vote on the fate of our lovely downtown park.   This is their "fix" to the vagrancy that is happening in the park.  They will install a fence which will be used as a dog park with limited access to paid patrons.    

We are asking for your support to focus on bringing the park back to its original use, the gem it used to be.  This coveted green space downtown could be used for many different community activities, and we are asking that the City Council give the space a chance to evolve into the lovely park is used to be.  

We are proposing a Thursday Night Market, First Friday Art Show, pop-up markets, musical theater productions, musical performances, family movie nights and more.  With the support of the Downtown Belleville Main Street and local business and community members this space could be an economic development tool to bring many downtown on a weekly basis.  Creating such a space will bring traffic to the businesses that might have not made their way down while enriching our community with arts and family friendly events.
