We need your help NOW! Join our effort to stop a massive industrial 195-ft 5G cell tower - 20 stories high! It is planned for a site right behind our homes in Crystal River near Holiday Heights. A public hearing is forthcoming, and we are organizing a strong coalition to pressure county officials to protect our neighborhoods, by requiring the tower company to build it in a place that is safer, outside of residential areas, and makes sense for families.

- Help us protect our kids from unnecessary wireless radiation (including 5G radiation, which has not yet been studied)!
- Protect our property values from immediately declining by up to 20%!
- The proposed cell tower would be visible for 1-3 miles, is taller than the Leaning Tower of Pisa, and would have a blinking light at night!
- Preserve our current, unobstructed view of trees and sky!

**Property Values**: Studies have shown that cell towers can decrease property value by 35% or more. A 2014 survey found that 94% of home buyers would pay less for property near a cell phone tower. Many prospective homebuyers are deterred by the health concerns and visual disruptions associated with cell towers. Our neighborhood is already facing direct impact from the Veterans Highway expansion, including noise, traffic, and the clear-cutting of hundreds of acres of trees. There is also an asphalt plant proposed nearby. We are facing disproportionate consequences of the growth in our area. Our neighborhood is mostly working class families and retirees who will be unable to financially afford moving.

**Health Risks**: There is mounting evidence suggesting that proximity to cell phone towers can lead to increased exposure to electromagnetic radiation. Studies indicate that this can pose potential health risks, especially for our children whose vulnerable systems are still developing. According to the Environmental Health Trust: "Extensive published scientific evidence indicates that radiofrequency radiation at levels compliant with federal government limits can cause cancer, increased oxidative stress, genetic damage, structural and functional changes of the reproductive system, memory deficits, behavioral problems, and neurological impacts. We consider radiofrequency radiation (RFR) to be a human carcinogen based on the current body of evidence. Many of these effects could be irreversible with grave consequences for our children’s future." We love living here because our kids can play outside safely. That should not be overshadowed by a structure that could endanger their health and future.

**Aesthetic Impact**: Our neighborhood is known for its country setting, trees, wildlife, starry night skies and agricultural scenery. It is why we live here and want to raise our kids here. The presence of a large, looming cell phone tower will drastically alter the landscape. It is an industrial eyesore that does not align with the character of our neighborhood, which is beloved by residents and visitors alike. This monopole tower is larger than current zoning allows. The requested conditional use permit will forever alter the character, beauty and pastoral setting of our neighborhood.

We need to act now to prevent this cell tower from reshaping our neighborhood in ways that compromise health, tarnish its beauty, and devalue our living investment. We urge Citrus County planners and commissioners to require that Blue Sky Towers prove why this is the least intrusive site, and why they cannot use existing, non-residential alternatives, as well as prove that this fits the setback rules for a residential area. We ask that T-Mobile be required to co-locate its equipment on current towers or be required to utilize their other viable engineering options.

Please join us in signing this petition to demand that this cell phone tower not be erected in our neighborhood. Together, we can preserve the safety of our families, the beauty of our neighborhood, and the value of our homes.
