Sorry to let you know but McDonalds are trying once again to get their fast food joint approved for Newtown. So we have to remind the Council we still don't want it!



This time Maccas have changed it from 24/7 to closing at 11pm weeknights and 2am Fridays and Saturday nights. But the reasons we all opposed it the first time are still the same.

The City of Sydney Council rejected their application in October 2025, largely due to concerns about increased crime, and there being no room for extra delivery riders on King St or delivery trucks in the laneway behind it.

It also helped that you were among around 3,000 people who signed one of 2 change.org petitions opposing it.
