The issue

A 24-hour fast food chain has been proposed for 212–214 King Street  and it could change EVERYTHING!

King Street isn’t just a street. It’s one of Sydney’s most unique and creative precincts! Even COLDPLAY recorded a video here (that shows how iconic it is)

It's FULL of independent businesses, late-night food spots, art, culture, and community. It’s a place that brings people together and celebrates diversity!!!!

A large, round-the-clock fast food outlet threatens all of that...

These kinds of developments put pressure on small local businesses that make Newtown what it is. They create more traffic, more noise, and make the area less safe for pedestrians especially at night when the street comes alive.

We don’t need another generic chain fast food store here. We need to protect what we already have! A thriving, diverse, and locally-owned community that people actually want to be part of!!!!

This isn’t just about one shopfront. It’s about keeping the spirit of King Street alive!!!!!!!!

If you care about Newtown’s future, we need your voice!

Sign the petition to stop the 24-hour fast food development at 212–214 King Street and help protect what makes this place special.
