I ask you to please read.

As many of you know, the City aquired the land SW of Southgate Mall, near mile marker 2.4 on the Bitterroot Trail.

The City is planning to turn all 13.5 acres except 1.5 acres into single family housing and apartments, wasting this beautiful space and destroying what the very soul of Missoula stands for, nature and society coming together as one.

I've lived next to that field my whole life. I walked my dogs there everyday until one of them past away and I moved, but I still go down there, and I am not the only one.

The public comment and final decision will be held in October, and we could truly use all the support we can get to reach a mutually beneficial result.

In my opinion, we should use the area behind Bob Wards for high density apartments, with spacious floor plans. This would create it's own community. I also would suggest using parking garages as Missoula needs to build vertical not horizontal. 

Second, we keep the other portion W of this, across the ditch, as a park and modify it to have a small parking lot and playground.
