We, are The Last Chance Cat Ranch in Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada, and have operated in our current location for 18 years. We are a NO Kill rescue that saves the neglected, homeless, abused, abandoned, throw away and forgotten, feral and stray cats in our city and surrounding communities. After all these years and all that we have contributed and helped with in regards to the cat problem here, the City of Lethbridge has issued a Stop Order against us, stating we violate the land use bylaw.

We have one year to vacate the property and cease operations at our current location. A place, where we have been for so long and where some of our sanctuary cats call home - safe, comfortable, and finally trusting humans.

Additionally, they have added restrictions within the Stop Order. Limiting us to no more than 2 volunteers per day; limiting the food delivery to no more than once per 7 days; .... We CANNOT properly care for our rescues with these restrictions!! Our cats that we worked so hard to save, pouring our hearts and souls in to and filling them up with kindness, trust and love, WILL ultimately be the ones who suffer!! Some will be stressed; some won't get their required medications on time; some will not get their required small meals multiple times a day, after being rescued emaciated. We will not be able to maintain the property during this year, or give the care and love that is so needed in rescue, if these restrictions remain ... PLEASE HELP US.

We are an entirely volunteer run rescue. We fundraise for every penny to pay vet bills and provide for the cats - through way of bottle drives, bake sales, craft sales, raffles, etc. Please sign our petition in support, to immediately have these harsh restrictions removed, so we can continue caring for our rescues - the way they should be and the way they deserve to be - over the course of the next year, while we work through this difficult situation.
