Saving Henry "The Blind Pittie": Stop Him from Being Euthanized

Saving Henry "The Blind Pittie": Stop Him from Being Euthanized

The Issue

“Saving one dog will not change the world, but surely for that one dog, the world will change forever.” -Karen Davison. This quote emphasizes the importance of fostering dogs, even if it may seem like a drop in a leaking bucket. For that one dog, it can make all the difference in the world.

Picture this: it's November 2022, and Henry is wandering around a major road at midnight. It's cold, dark, and extremely noisy. Cars honk all around him, people scream and grab him from all sides. Suddenly, Henry feels a tug, and things start to quiet down. Some folks are talking about him, but he's not quite sure what all the fuss is about. And then he hears a brand-new voice calling him by name. "HENRY," she says. With a bark and a smile, Henry lets her know that's his name. And from that moment on, his whole world changed.

I am writing this petition on behalf of Henry “The Blind Pittie”. A dog who is just asking Hope Animal Rescue for a chance at life, a chance to let his foster of 7 months ADOPT him. Henry due to his “bite” history, was scheduled to be behaviorally euthanized by Hope Animal Rescue on April 26 2023 and by April 30th 2023 the option to adopt was off the table and he was scheduled to be killed no matter what. This petition is reaching out to the community to ask them to SAVE HENRY. His foster, of 7 months, is willing to adopt him and give him the life he deserves. Henry's “bite” is known as redirection, and was a quick nip to the hand a couple of times in moments of excitement (much like a puppy nipping) and in no way labels him as an aggressive dog or a danger to society.

Henry has letters of recommendation, from 2 trainers and his veterinarian, all confirming he has never shown signs of aggression and is in no way a danger to society! His foster has fostered over 200 animals and many of which were for Hope Animal Rescue. At no point during his 7 months with her did the rescue feel he was a danger, and even continued to send fosters her way, until mention of his nipping was spoken of and taken out of context.

I urge you to reach out to info@hopeanimals.org and ask why Henry can't live even with a committed adopter. I FOSTER to give those who don’t have a voice one. I foster to provide a place for animals to call HOME, whether it be for days, weeks, or months. I foster to give animals a chance to see how good humans can be and allow them to see what LOVE is. Check out my current and past fosters @fosterpupsnc

#SAVINGHENRY Please share this petition, sign it for not only Henry, but for all the dogs out there whose time is not yet up. The time to SPEAK UP is NOW! The time to make a difference in the lives of the Henry’s of the world is NOW. #SAVINGHENRY
