2,000 – TV coverage – keep spreading the message.

What a start to the year! On Tues 2nd we had prominent TV coverage on BBC Look East, handing out the first thousand leaflets and today, Thursday, we’ve reached 2,000 signatures on our petition. Please keep spreading the message. Please remember to tell people that this is a new petition, started in December, not the same one people were signing in the summer and autumn! Perhaps if you didn’t say that before, you could email/share again making it clear? We’re still looking for offers of help – only 41 have signed up so far: please show how you can help at the (new) form https://goo.gl/forms/miAYM58q3pGSP46l2: lots of options and suggestions – including some requiring minimal effort an no expense that you won’t have thought of! We will be leafletting at Bedford Station from 6am tomorrow (Friday - till 08.30) and through much of Saturday morning, and then again on Sunday and Monday. Can you help at another station, please? We are starting to get more info about what we will be facing come May. East Mids Trains are proposing no southbound trains to stop at Bedford between 05.38 and 10.13 (slightly later at Luton). More info at fb.me/EastMidsRailCampaign, including the lovely off-peak service from Kettering/Wellingborough/Bedford to London, with two trains about 10 minutes apart, and a 50-odd minute wait if you miss the second one. East Mids Trains are also planning for the coaches from Wellingborough into Bedford in the morning to go to the bus station, not the rail station. We know of people who commute by changing trains at Bedford. As if most of an hour to do a 15 minute train journey from Wellingborough to Bedford wasn’t bad enough, they will have a 15 minute walk, too! All ways round, not acceptable.
