Zittrouer rd, while it is one of many in the county, is one where most people have moved and lived because of its appeal. When moving to the road, you were told that the large acreage of woods was protected wetlands and/or a hunting club and would not turn into a development. This is no longer the case as an almost 500 acre development is in the words in all of this beautiful wooded area. The roads surrounding this development are small, and can barely handle the traffic as it is. If you live in the area, you know how much traffic accumulates at Midland and 30 (including the number of accidents) and at Blue Jay and Midland. Building another 500 acre development will only worsen this issue, especially because our roads are not big enough to handle all of this development. In addition, this will bring more people to the county (on top of all of the other developments already in the works). Our schools are overflowing, we are beginning to be hit with a teacher and other school worker shortage, and we are in a hiring freeze. The schools cannot handle another 500 acre development. The high school classes are already being maxed out at 30+. We have no space for these students to go and no third high school being in the works. Lastly, Zittrouer is a road where families go to live and stay. The road is 35 mph and can be very dangerous with the addition of all of these extra housing. Kids, families, and pets are always seen here. Bringing another community, can cause accidents, fatalities, etc as Zittrouer is a winding road. More than that more people can bring more crime. This area is a very quiet area of Effingham and we rarely see any issues. I would hate to see our county continue to see an increase in crime because of the increase of people.
