Thank you for standing with us to protect Ye Olde Swiss Cottage.

We’ve updated the petition description to reflect the current situation, and we wanted to explain why:

The owner has not set an asking price or entered discussions with the community.

The community commissioned an independent valuation, which shows that buying and restoring the pub is far beyond what can be raised by community fundraising alone within the six-month moratorium period.

This means that any future rescue of the pub will almost certainly require an experienced pub operator, alongside community protection.

Crucially, the Asset of Community Value (ACV) listing is now under appeal by the owner.
The appeal hearing is scheduled for March 2026 — after the community’s right to bid ends in February 2026.

Petition now focuses on:

Backing Camden Council in defending the ACV listing

Showing strong public support to decision-makers

Keeping the site protected so that, if it comes to market properly in future, a pub operator can step in

Your signature matters more than ever. The higher the public support, the stronger Camden Council’s position in defending the pub’s future.
