Dear all,
I’m happy to share some exciting news—Ye Olde Swiss Cottage Pub has officially been listed as an Asset of Community Value (ACV)!
https://www.camden.gov.uk/assets-of-community-value
Just a quick reminder:
"ACV status does not restrict who the owners can sell to or at what price. It also does not affect an owner's ability to seek planning permission to change the use of, or redevelop, a property after it has been designated. Once listed, an asset will typically remain on the Council's ACV list for five years."
This is a huge step forward, and while there’s still a long journey ahead, this news gives us a fresh boost of hope in our efforts to save this incredible pub, rich with local history and community spirit.
I'm also pleased to let you know that The Belsize Society has submitted an application for local listing of the property.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone involved and to everyone who signed the petition. Your support truly makes a difference.
But please, don’t stop now—we still need you!
If you have any stories or memories from the pub, or if you’re a local business, we’re collecting testimonials to support our next steps.
Or if you simply want to get involved or have ideas to share, we’d love to hear from you!
