We in the community are grateful that the National Trust for Historic Preservation has enabled an equestrian facility to operate in the Mount Vernon community for over 50 years.  We respectfully implore the Trust to extend the lease of the property used by Woodlawn Stables in order to maintain the site’s equestrian heritage and begin a new era of partnership between the stables and Woodlawn Plantation -- a partnership that has unlimited possibilities for providing our community with an oasis of local history, agriculture and equestrian activities unique to our area. We, the undersigned, believe this place matters.
