Save Wood Lane Playing Field

Save Wood Lane Playing Field
The Issue
East Lindsey District Council have applied to build a 3G Artificial Grass Pitch with perimeter fencing and floodlighting on Wood Lane Playing field.
This will mean the last remaining area of green space, where 3 football pitches once stood, will be taken away from the public forever. So many people, particularly children, use the area as a free and safe place to exercise on a regular basis. This plays a vital role in promoting good physical and mental health. The new facility will only be available to rent for a high price and therefore only affordable to clubs and teams. This sort of development may well be needed in the town but should never be constructed by taking public land from us. If we can protect this public space now, it should set a precedent and help to protect more green space for future generations.
UPDATE: ELDC withdrew the application on 18th April but they plan to resubmit and it is therefore essential to keep signing and spreading this petition! Many thanks
