The application to demolish the historic wolverton railway works seem to have gone very quiet.

The question is what is really going on with wolverton works. I have sent a number of emails to st modwen asking whats going with the site but they refuse to engage with me in fact as far as i know they refuse to engage with any one asking whats going on with the site.

I spoke to Duncan Law the case officer at the mkc planning dept for any news. Duncan said that there is nothing to report in fact he told me he has not heard from st modwen in over 6 months.

This i find shocking but not surprising given the way st modwen have not done things right and done half jobs else where within the uk.

I am more shocked that st modwen have not done anything or spoken to any one about the application given the fact St Modwen have lied cheated and pushed the application forward not listening to those who object or Historic England they have also ignored the council very own conservation officer. They have ignored at to heritage groups. They have not kept any one update with the goings on to the point several people dealing with st modwen over the works site did not even know Knorr-Bremse had gone and Gemini Rail are now using the site.

I have had few conversations with the conservation officer and historic England about the site, We have thrown some ideas around. I heritage and conservation group has come up with ways to bring the site into the 22nd century without the removal of the historic buildings and the fact that one building has lost its roof and floor is better as it gives room to build within the shell.

The works site has so much going for it if the money was there and the right owners.

We all need to look beyond the mess and see the site a lot of people don't know what goes on behind the wall which is one of the reasons some want the place gone.

More suggestions for the site will be forwarded to st modwen but with the lack of response from them we have questioned if they are going to sell the site. If you go to the st modwen website you will no longer find wolverton works in any of their portfolios all traces of wolverton works has been cleared and they have not even update the website which was set up for this project.

It's time milton keynes council brought out st modwen and let the people of wolverton and mk have a say in how the site should look but it has to be within the wolverton neighbourhood plan.
