Some good news on the fight to save the works Network rail have rejected plans for the new entrance of McConnell.
After months of emails and a site visit with network rail to look at the site of the new entrance for the "new works" the decision was made that not only is the road dangerous and not safe but due to their strategy and orr guidance to allow a new public level crossing as network rail is committed to removal of rail crossing where possible. The crossing would have been next to the access line gates into the site behind the east side of the smithy shop
