Hello to all our lovely signatories!

Although we've been a bit quiet since we began the petition a few weeks ago, there has been lots of work happening behind the scenes.

Today it was confirmed that the Diocese of Lincoln are withdrawing the Hall from sale by Auction in December 2022, due to the protection afforded to our Hall as an Asset of Community Value. (This is part of the Localism Act, 2011, protecting it under English Law) We have six months to negotiate a sale with the Diocese, after which they can resume attempts to sell the building to the highest bidder on the open market.

While this is great news, there is still much, much work to be done. We're looking at many legal, financial and charitable issues to ensure that we negotiate a fair deal for the Village; remaining determined to keep on trying to save the Hall for the benefit of villagers and visitors alike.

Please, do keep sharing the petition and the YouTube video amongst your friends, family and networks. The Diocese of Lincoln need to understand how important it is for our village to keep our community space; not just because all the Planning and Localism Laws say so, but because it is the best way we can keep our village Church open. We want to work with them, we want to save our Hall for future generations.

Thank you again, so much, for signing, reading and staying engaged with the campaign.

Frances K
