Dear Supporters of the Save Withers Community Library
Since our last update:
On Tuesday 18 March during the Council Ordinary meeting, councillors agreed to rescind their decision no 268/24 taken on 10 Dec 2024. (point 1 of our petition).
This means the Withers library is no longer under the threat of being repurposed.
It will remain a community library
As for point 2 of the petition, (expanded opening hours, and the reactivation of activities and programs at the Withers library), the councillors decided that” the CEO will present a report to the Council within the next three rounds of meetings. This report will detail the operational and resourcing needs and impacts related to returning Withers Community library to pre-COVID services levels. Any further decisions about extending hours or additional resources would need to be considered in our future budget processes”
The future is looking brighter for the Withers Community library.
We are very grateful for your signature.
You’ve helped save the Withers Community Library from being repurposed.
However, the road to full recovery, to see extended opening hours and regular activities and workshops, is a long one ahead, and will require your ongoing support as residents and or patrons of the Withers library.
To mark this first achievement and to thank their supporters, The Save Withers Community Library Action Groups is inviting their members, supporters and the Withers community to attend a family BBQ (sausage sizzle):
On: Sunday 6th April,
Where: at the Maidens reserve, Withers.
Time: from 12 o’clock.
Link to the event on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/share/1DTYcmUrmS/
This is great opportunity to meet you and to discuss the future of the Withers community library. Kids welcome.
Please bring chairs or picnic rugs and a salad or side to share.
(No, no signage needed this time!)
Although not essential, RSVP by 4th April would be helpful. (savewitherslibraryactiongroup@gmail.com)
Looking forward to seeing you there.
Thank you again for your support.
The Save Withers Community Library Action Group.
