Please use Your Voice to Inspire Others to Use Theirs! Wilton Elementary School has been a cornerstone of our community for decades. Nestled in the heart of Granville County, it has nurtured young minds and built strong community bonds that have shaped generations.

The impending closure of Wilton Elementary School by the Granville County Public School system threatens not only the education of our children but the very fabric of our community.

This school is more than just a building; it is a safe haven where our children learn, grow, and develop lifelong friendships.

Wilton Elementary offers small class sizes, individualized attention, and a nurturing environment that larger schools cannot provide. For many families, the closure of our school represents more than an inconvenience; it symbolizes the dismantling of community values and the erosion of local identity.

The closure would force our children to commute long distances to other schools, resulting in longer days and less time for community engagement and family activities. Furthermore, consolidating schools does not always result in improved educational outcomes. In fact, studies have shown that smaller schools often offer more individualized and effective learning experiences, contrary to the cost-saving arguments presented by closing schools.

We urge the Granville County School Board to reconsider this decision. Instead of closing Wilton Elementary, we propose exploring alternative solutions, such as community partnerships, fundraising efforts, and grants that could address budget shortfalls and maintain our school’s operations. By engaging with our community, the school system can uncover innovative approaches to sustain Wilton Elementary and keep it thriving.

Let’s preserve our community's history and ensure our children receive the quality education they deserve in an environment that supports their holistic development. Sign this petition to send a clear message to the Granville County Public School system: Save Wilton Elementary School for our current and future generations.
