Save Wilgenhof

Save Wilgenhof
The Issue
The university would like to close Wilgenhof, a residence housing many hopeful young men, who may now be left without a home next year. All because of a misinformed news article.
Wilgenhof does not stand for the things the media deems it would.
To its inhabitants, it has been a symbol of individuality, expression, brotherhood, love, fun, friendship, and an encouragement to embrace your weird, whacky, unique, and wonderful side - something that I think gets suppressed by culture far too often, and in my opinion that is for the worse.
We believe that a place that has shown these virtues as fundamental to it, should not be looked at with such disdain by the world, but rather with admiration and fondness, just as its residents do. Residents, who now, may be left with nowhere to stay.
The boys who currently live here have not once had a chance to communicate their feelings and, for that matter, the truth, throughout this process - even though we are the people this affects far more than anyone else. Thus we have turned towards a petition as we feel trapped and voiceless.
We see no reason why the Residence should be closed. In fact, we see many reasons why it should stay open and celebrated. We overwhelmingly and undividedly love our home.
On the 24th of June, the SU council will decide the fate of our beloved house. Let us not stand idle as we watch culture melt into soulless soup!
It should be stressed that this is an agenda driven attack, not just on our home, but on all male residences. You could be next.
So sign the petition to help !
Sign the petition to stop a terrible mistake.
