Save Wildlife, Fund Animal Crossings

The Issue

After a traumatic experience in Canmore Alberta,  I am starting this petition in hopes to help fund animal crossings.

Wildlife continues to be at risk due to the continuous growth of tourism & population. Many of us travel far to see these beautiful mountains, & it’s even more special when you run into the creatures who roam freely, as it is their home.

We have built roads, property, towns & many other structures, on the animals land, I believe it is only fair to have more crossings for these innocent creatures.

Accidents are bound to happen on the busy highways, while we may not be able to prevent all injuries & or deaths to these animals, we can do more for their safety & wellbeing.

With all of the money these tourist attractions can bring, the least they can do is give back to the animals, as many people come to see them in their natural habitat.

According to Google research, it takes up to $4 million each to build one of these crossings. On Canada.ca you can see Banff national parks gross millions of dollars, & the biggest reliers are from us, the travellers who visit these parks.

Seeing as we fund these places a great amount, I believe there is more than enough room in the budget to construct these crossings.

If we continue to believe the amount of animal crossings we have now is enough, we will continue to see these accidents happen, which not only involve animals, but also the people in vehicles, motorcycles, bicycles, etc.

We can make these parks a better place, by giving animals more comfort crossing busy roads, & tourists/locals a safer experience, while being able to enjoy wildlife from a distance.

I have never made one of these before, however after experiencing this horrible road accident involving a scared young moose trying to cross a highway, & a family of 4, I feel pushed to take action.

Rest in peace moose, & thankfully the family made it out safe.

Any bit helps, thank you.
