We won a powerful victory yesterday.
Labor announced that if it wins the election on Saturday, they will work with the City on a plan that suits our community's needs. This means we will be given real power when it comes to the planning decisions made in our neighbourhood.
But we're only half way there.
Gladys Berejiklian’s Coalition government still wants to develop Waterloo to levels never before seen in Australia, increasing the number of homes on the site by a staggering 388 per cent.
If their proposed scheme goes ahead, the character of our neighbourhood will be eroded.
We'll see increased building heights from 30 to 40 storeys, 10,000 more residents, increased traffic and our neighbours in social housing will be kicked out.
A day of celebration like today feels good. But these victories take work. We got here because people like you took action.
