Centennial Square with its beautiful trees and fountain has been a place of wonderful music festivals for years!  The locals and the tourists love these events and find the square and its trees and fountain beautiful!  The City Hall will soon spend $11.4 million to cut down the massive sequoia and several other trees and move the fountain and put in a kiddie spray park changing the use of the square from a beloved festival spot.  No one I spoke to thought that the location works as a kiddie spray park and most people I know love the square as it is and enjoy festivals there.  The sequoia appears much healthier than any others around town and those trees can live up to 3,000 years!  Trees are important for our environment and we keep losing them downtown.  Please stop this change to our beautiful square as it is supposed to happen very, very soon!
