Please help me stop the madness that is spreading like a cancer in our beloved Venice. As if the Venice community haven't suffered enough loss, pain and change-now the iconic tabacco shop and attached plant store will be torn down and replaced by TRADER JOES! The local plant store is an old school ma and pa shop owned by an old school local. These people, and those like them are the backbone of Venice. Not Trader Joes. These locals have poured into their businesses their very own blood, sweat and tears. Trader Joes is just another greedy corporate big business trying to infiltrate and displace our unique town and unique people. They already have a Trader Joe that is 5 miles away from the Fox Swapmeet in Marina Del Rey. Santa Monica also has a Trader Joe too. It wouldn't be right to open a Trader Joe next to a Smart and Final and surrounding locals that live next to it. Show pride and support Venice and Venice Plants and what we stand for. Don't let the big guy win. Help the Venice community and show them that we care.
