Save United States caregivers and save these special kiddos slipping through the cracks!
The Issue
Update: This is not just a PA problem where my son and I live but this is Federal and it will affect all states. What ever state you live in, they are taking parent caregivers away once May 11th hits. I talk about PA in this petition because that's where we live, my research is solely done for PA but because of finding out this being a Federal issue I am just starting to research other states.
United States Caregivers are going to end on May 11, 2023, and there are a lot of us that were approved as special cases in 2018 and before. However most of us are being lumped into covid help, it really doesn't matter because all these kids will lose their homes. These are very special children, including my son, Ryan. My son has Fragile X, autism, anxiety, and aggression and this is just the start of the list. It is just my son and me, we have no help and that is ok until now. All States are going to end parent caregivers and we need to stop this because most of us have no way to make an income because our kids need us and our kids have very special situations that make no one else qualified but their parents. Most of us keep to ourselves and live a quiet life with our kids but now we are speaking out because again our kids will lose their homes.
If this doesn't upset you then the next part should, once Ryan, my son loses his home and it will happen, it now is going to cost the taxpayer a ton more. Just for Ryan, it could be in the millions a year to take care of him once our home forecloses. Ryan is just in one family out of over 400 families in PA.
If we do not take care of this now and stop the decision of ending parent caregivers, it will leave a lot of special needs kids homeless and will cost PA taxpayers, not politicians, but you, millions a year, a child, instead of the five figures the parents get to take care of our children. After May 11th, each child will start costing the taxpayer millions of dollars a year once evictions start.
Let us continue to take care of our children so you all don't have to! Please help us and sign this petition to stop these children from losing their parents and homes.
